I have used Zone Alarm Firewall, I have also got superantispyware and Malwarebytes. They are all free for personal use and I have had no trouble with Viruses Trojans Hackers etc. I have just changed to Avast antivirus and all seems good so far. Zone Alarm allows a lot of personal configuration unlike the Windows Firewall. They can all be downloaded from https://www.download.com/ I also use Windows Defender from the Microsoft site. It is safe to use two anti-spy products but never use more than one A/V as it can cause conflicts. You should run A/V and anti spy weekly. Hope this helps

Avast! Home Edition v4.8 -It is FREE with the following well-rounded features: Anti-spyware built-in Anti-rootkit built-in Strong self-protection Antivirus kernel Simple User Interface Integrated Resident protection P2P and IM Shields Network Shield Web Shield Automatic updates Virus Chest System integration Virus Cleaner Support for 64-bit Windows Internationalization -Avast! is a trustable company that has been around for more than 20 years since 1988. -It is also one of the most widely used antivirus programs in the world, with more than 80 million users worldwide as of April 2009. -In 2006, it won the Secure Computing Readers’ Trust Award for best antivirus. -In August 2008, it was awarded the “Advanced+” rating by the independent testing company AV Comparatives. -It was awarded the “Advanced” rating by AV Comparatives in February 2009. Most popular free anti-virus programs are the 3 “A’s”. Avira free edition, AVG free edition and Avast! free edition. My comparison between these 3 are as follow: Avira: Pros: -Highest detection rate of about 94.26% compared to Avast! and AVG Cons: -No resident Anti-Spyware built-in for free edition -very sluggish update AVG: Pros: -Simplest interface. easier to navigate and easier to understand compared to Avast! and Avira Cons: -lowest detection rate of about 82.82% compared to Avast! and Avira -No resident Anti-Rootkit built-in for free edition Avast!: Pros: -Relatively high detection rate of about 87.46% (Avira > Avast! > AVG) -Most on-access scanning modules packed in (internet mail, instant messaging, network shield, p2p shield, standard shield, web shield, outlook / exchange) -Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware and Anti-Rootkit built in -Frequent and fast automatic updates of virus definitions at only a few KB -Able to scan system automatically while screen-saver is running. -If system is still infected by virus somehow, the Virus Recovery Database feature act as a last resort to restore non-infected data saved automatically previously by Avast! whenever system is idle -Little or no performance slow down for my computer since i used it for 4years (low on resorces) Cons: -Might sound bias, but there is really nothing i don’t like about Avast! Summary:
Avast! is probably the best free Anti-virus I have come across with. It have protected me well for the past 4 years. If you are looking for even more protection, they also got the paid version; Avast! Professional Edition. It features more scanning modules like script blocker and more functions making the best even better.

AVG is good a healing them. It put them into a vault and you press delted and the Whole Virus is gone.
Also Ad-aware it does the recommended feature it thinks is good for that Virus or Spy-wear eg. It would says performance action now once scan is done and it will remove it for you

Haha, good answer #4. There has been a trend of anti-virus questions here for a very long time. I tell you it’s avira. But more importantly, if you just use your computer for internet purposes i suggest you switch O.S to linux, that way those viruses ar just normal files there.
