I am writing an ethics paper on digital photography, and I had some questions about it. I do not know any excellent sources to find this information, so I’d appreciate any help. 1. Does a photographer still retain legal ownership of a photo when they send it to a media outlet, such as a newspaper, and if they do, can they take action if the photo is manipulated beyond a reasonable means? 2. Do people such as celebrities, sports stars, and other people of fame hold copyright to their image? Is their image possibly held by someone else? Can a photographer be fined for certain use of their photograph? 3. Do you know any other issues that photographers may face? So far I have credibility, photo shopping, legality, and I’m starting on writing about how media outlets may edit photos they recieve, but I’m not too sure about how unethical it is.
Any help is appreciated! Thanks!
