Is It Possible To Sync An Ipod With Other Peoples Computers?

I’m getting an ipod touch in a few days and it will be my first. I recently owned a zune and wanted to try something new so I was wondering if it were possible to sync the device with itunes on someone elses computer. My friend has multiple music videos on his computer and I have a dial up connection so I can’t download lengthy videos for free. So yeah is this possible?

  1. To elaborate on the other answer, you’ll need to enable ‘Manually Manage Music’ for your iPod
    And it goes a little like this;
    Plug your iPod into *your* computer (if you try it on another computer, there’s a chance that it’ll wipe your iPod. eek!), and it should show up in iTunes. Click on it, and you’ll see the info page, with the version and things. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and tick ‘Manually manage music & videos’.
    After this is done, hit apply. and then sync.
    From now on, you’ll need to manually add files to your iPod, by either dragging the songs or playlists on your, or any other iTunes library to your iPod.
    Have fun :-)

  2. Yes…just make sure your ipod is set to manual. Not automatic.
