I have used methylated spirits on my mouse and keyboard but I am not sure if this is alright to use and I dont want to risk using it on my LCD screen. Is methylated spirits alright and if not what should I use?

50/50 mix of white vinegar and distilled water is fine for the lcd. Or the commercially available lcd cleaners. Use with a microfibre cloth. Can buy an LCD cleaning cloth especially or use the cleaning cloth that you can get to clean sunglass/reading glasses lenses.
Isopropyl alcohol or metho is fine for the keyboard/mouse, but don’t use on the LCD.
If you want to make computer extra clean, buy a can of compressed air, great for getting the fuzz and mysterious bits from between the keys. You can also use it to clear the fan from dust and in your usb ports.

Isopropyl Alchohol is good for cleaning all electronics,
LCD screens should be cleaned with those store lcd cleaners,
When in doubt use a soft lint free damp cloth to clean
