the first thing i need to know is do you plan to use both on wireless or are you going to use cables (or whatever combo)
you do need to do a little checkup here if using wireless
what tpye is your router? is it 802.11x (you should need only check the box)
x being the letter
does it match all of the computers wireless cards?
to check this you can goto control panel->adminstartive tools->computer management->device manager
and locate network adaptors there it will probally tell you
also you want to ensure all the computers are setup to auto setup ip addresses
network connections right click the adapter you will use and click properties
scroll to internet protocal tcp/ip and click properties and just make sure they are on auto
from there is a matter of just connecting the computers to the router and if you use wireless locate the network in the wireless browser and click connect and if asked type your router passphrase
but mostly u just need to use an ethernet cable for wired connections or locate the router signal in the network browser

Why connect the computer through the main one?
Plug the new computer into a LAN port on the router with a patch cord.
Or get a wireless adapter and connect the computer to the router wirelessly
But don’t daisy chain the computers, that’s just doing things the really hard way. (as well as, depending on what your connection and hardware is, a recipe for disaster)
Good Luck
