Get Avast Home Edition:
Avast home edition is free and effective, it protects your PC from infected webpages, scans your downloads and emails for viruses and has built in anti-rootkit and anti-spyware, plus it gives you the option to run a boot scan, there are very few anti-virus’s that can do all this paid or otherwise and this is free.
Avast works for 60 days from installation after which you will need to register to get your free product key this is valid for a year after which you just register for another free key, so it always free.
I use Avast along side Comodo firewall both are free, light on memory and have been independently tested and proven to be more effective then big names like Mcafee.

Comodo: http://www.personalfirewall.comodo.com/
People often recommend AVG but Avast is far better:
On AVGs official website it states that their free anti-virus software does not screen downloads for viruses (one of the most common ways of getting infected). I’ve also tested both AVG and Avast using the EICAR test viruses, AVG allowed all the viruses onto the computer without a single warning where as Avast either blocked them instantly or shorty after preventing all from running, Avast is much lighter and offers far superior protection.

AVG is also being payed. It has expiry date. The most famous is the McAfee 8.5i Enterprise Edition, it does not require any license or so. It only needs subscriptions for a period of time and it can be used over and over again. You just have to update it regularly for the anti-virus databse to be effective.
McAfee 8.5i Enterprise and its other version 8.7i is very much powerful. Just try them both. Very lightweight for your computer system and very effective. Crack, Serials, and Keygens are not needed.
P.S. Just stick on the 8.5i and 8.7 series. Take care and God bless u.

Entire list :
? AVG
? Avast! Home
? Antivir Avira Personal
? BitDefender 10 Free Edition
? Dr.Web CureIt
? PC Tools Antivirus
? Rising Antivirus Free Edition
? EAV Antivirus Suite Free Edition
Let me describe you those 3 anti-viruses.
1. AVG is useless and used only by retards. Its a “install and forget” program that does only basic protection and nothing more. It is unable to remove medium-high risk worms and viruses. I wouldnt advise it to anyone.
2. Avast! Home is decent antivirus. It has many functions, 3 levels of protection and serves much better than AVG. However : it detects a lot of false-positives, so much that user with no knowledge about it, CANNOT handle it and will often delete files that werent harmless at all. Besides, its awfully complicated.
3. Among all 3, Avira detects and removes most known threats and viruses. It scored high on the tests, its simple to use and able to remove stronger viruses, including those hiding in boot sectors of hard drives. I`d certainly recommend you to use Avira.
I made a full review on how to configure it, here : http://www.ecuhq.com/tested-programs-how…
Hope it helped.

Avast is one of the best programs I’ve EVER found and it’s 100% free!!!! I do IT work and that’s what all my companies use…home use is free, but company use isn’t…So for yours It’ll be free….but it’s a great program! I’ve seen it grab virus’ that Norton and mcafee couldn’t detect. and the updates can be set to automatic, so u don’t have to worry about that.
