Well I used to hack (and still kinda do) but viruses mainly try to get the Hacker Money. Take for instance the Banker Fox Type A (appears as BANKER_FOX.ALPHA). It can drain all your money from your bank accounts in nanoseconds. Other viruses like tracking cookies also can steal data. So it may be for money or if you hate someone.

1. the satisfaction of being able to crash someones computer, especially if its a corporations computer system
2. Usually to to get information, by way of keyloggers and other spy type viruses
