I was reading some articles that mentioned a power supply upgrade as an upgrade that would change computer performance and i was wondering how.

  1. If the power is slow the performance can be slow because the processor is made of semi-conductors and it depends upon power supply but i think more power supply will not boost your system only less supply can make changes.
But overclocking RAM, Graphics card or processor requires lot of power supply. From this it can be understood that if performance increases power supply increases and it can be understood vice versa.
More performance = more power consumption
    vice versa
More power cinsumption = more performance
But the vice versa is only a guess, though!

  2. Changing the PSU should have no effect on performance, if your computer is working ‘normally’
If you have upgraded parts of your computer, i.e. video card, then your PSU may be too “weak” to supply all of the power required by the new hardware.
    Good Luck

  3. a power supply upgrade would only help if your current power supply couldn’t supply adequate power to your components. If you bought your computer from a company(dell, hp, gateway, etc.), You’ll have enough.
