I love to take pictures, other of Nature or people from babies to older people. I am passionate about art in photography and would like to do my own art. I would like a camera I can use under any lights, whether close ups or from far away. What digital camera would you suggest for under $1000?

  1. Nikon D5000
    Here is the link-http://nikonusa.com/Find-Your-Nikon/Prod…
Its a brand new camera thats coming out this month, and it is fantastic for its price! It is under $1000 so its in your buget, and it has the same imaging sensor as the nikon d90 and nikon d300!
Personally I prefer Nikon over canon, not because of brand, or one takes better pictures than the other… but because nikon has more outside buttons so you dont always have to go threw the menu, Than you wont miss those special moments!
For the body only it runs around $729.95
And w/ the kit lens $849.95
    Its a great camera!
    Good luck! :)

  2. If you are really on a budget and want the best quality for the money, check out the P&S Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28 [with a Leica lense] which has more features than most pro DSLRs that require auxiliary lenses not even equal to the single initial full-range lense that comes with the FZ28. It is reviewed at:http://www.steves-digicams.com/2008_revi…
It just came out on November 4, 2008.
It’s an all-in-one 10.1 megapixel digital camera which includes (i) built-in image stabilization; (ii) HD720 quality video [Quicktime] which permits zooming while videoing skateboarding, action sports; (iii) a 18x zoom [27 - 486 mm (35mm equiv.)] “Leica” lense for nature and concert photography; (iv) up to 0.39 inch macro option; (v) up to 6400 ASA; (vi) takes up to 380 pictures per 120 min. battery charge; (vii) has a “burst speed” of 13 fps; and sells new for $270 at amazon.com. in the U.S.

  4. That’s quite subjective, but it’s definitely an SLR, do you already have any lenses?
