I’m using my mothers vista desktop while waiting for my laptop. Can I buy the Sims 2 now( I want the Sims 3, but we don’t meet the requirements ), download it on the desktop, and still be able to download it on the laptop?

Yes you can. I have done that with several of my expansion packs for the sims 2. Watch out for the expansion packs though becasue if you system requirements barely meet the sims 2 then the game will have some difficulty running. It may lag a bit especially when multiple sims are on a lot.
Still get the game it is AWESOME.
If you do ever get expansion packs then get nightlife and seasons.
