What Digital Camera Has A Really Long Shutter Speed?
I am very happy with the Fujifilm Finepix F10 for night photography, except it will only take pictures up to 15 seconds long. I’d like to get a digital camera that will let me take really long pictures for low light photography. It would have to have a manual focus since an automatic focus obviously won’t work with next to no light. Is there a web site where I can browse or search for digital cameras by the shutter speed?

This is a great website for side-by-side comparisons of consumer electronics products. They offer buying guides, editor’s picks, tech reviews, user reviews, user ratings, and price comparisons of various retailers for thousands of products. I find it a very useful research resource when I’m considering a new purchase. Here’s their digital cameras page:http://reviews.cnet.com/Digital_cameras/…
You’re going about this the wrong way. You generally don’t want to keep the shutter open for longer than about 8 seconds because the sensor will heat up and create image noise. If you can, upgrade to a digital SLR. When you combine an f/1.4 lens with ISO 1600 you can take action shots by candle light!
Or if you’re into astro-photography, look into 2nd hand Canons. Canon had a special series of the 20D with a weakened aa-filter specifically for this purpose.
SLR’s has a setting called BULB, or select M mode and turn the dial till you see B or BULB, but make sure and read about it before buying. I know for sure Canon and Nikon will has this setting. Like the Canon 20D or the Nikon D50 or D70. Make sure you get a shutter release cable , because a little bit of shake could ruin your picture.
