    They don’t use a so called program. The administrator(s) have full access while they give the students limited access. Normally in a situation as described they give them read permission only. They do this through the operating system.

  2. It’s probably a feature in Windows. The school sets up an administrator account, then creates student/guest accounts. They set the security options so students don’t get privileges for installing things and such. This prevents students from having too much access to the hard drive and doing potentially malicious things.

  3. The answer to your question is 2 words: security policy. The admins at your school take all student accounts and put them into 1 group. Then the permissions are set on that 1 group in the security policy on the servers. These settings are what limit you to not being able to install/uninstall.
