So, I am at my family’s for the holidays. They have an old windows 98 desktop (old and slow) and a newer laptop – Window’s XP. The house has a wireless router.
Is there a way to set up the printer downstairs to the wirelss router and set up a network so both the computers (one wireless and one with ethernet) to the same printer?
If so, could you give me a little detail on how to do this
Thanks

I believe you need Windows 98se to do this.
The easiest way would be to buy a print server device that attaches to the printer. (under $50 easily)

yea its pretty simple you just have to network your computers..so let me explain how to do that. On your Laptop go to start, Control Panel, Network and Internet Connections, now click on the Network setup wizard, (make sure all computers you want on your network are connected to the internet at this point) now just complete the Wizard and it will do all the work for you, once you are done do the same for the old desktop, now you should be able to print as long as one of the computers are hooked up to the printer because the printer cant get internet….setting a network is hard to do so if you need anymore help feel free to message me if u have aim i can help you on that too =] good luck
