I would like to record daily events, without the hassle of pen and paper and since i’m on the computer more often and enjoy typing with the laptop better, i thought maybe someone out there might help me, i’ve tried downloads of supposedly free software but disapointed with the cost as its only trial software for a limited time it’s no use, and i cannot afford the prices they charge, i have microsoft office and tried using that but isn’t the same as proper software for the purpose.

  1. Keynotehttp://sourceforge.net/projects/keynote/
    Free, Open Source Software (MPL)
Keynote is a flexible, multi-featured tabbed notebook. Optionally, KeyNote can encrypt your data securely using the Blowfish or Idea algorithms. It can be used as a NOTES keeper, a diary, an outliner, a knowledge base and other different types of information managers as the user prefers. (Summary from the producers homepage)

  2. Just use notepad.
Press F5 before you start typing the days events and it will insert the date and time for you.

  4. well, really if you want to go the cheap way here’s what you need: microsoft word: you could just make a acccount on your computer, an account for you and make a pasword no one knows. your privite journal, your privite account. then go to microsoft word and write what happened that day. then you save it and every time you want to record something else, you sing in your account and open your privite journal. and because it’s your acount, knwo one can see your stuff in microsoft word in their account, cause it was in your account. there. does that help? and you can use microsoft outlook to put in special dates (just make sure it’s in your account. that should do it:)

  7. The best free diary is iDailyDiary – you can add text and pictures to diary entries; when the programme opens, go to File>New Diary. Give your diary a suitable name such as “My Wonderful Life” (…yeah, right) and you can passsword protect it too if you have prying folk at hand.http://www.download.com/iDailyDiary/3000…
just check out the reviews – the Editor loves it – users love it – and it’s free
If you want a free calendar/organizer/to do list, the best free one is EssentialPIM -http://www.snapfiles.com/reviews/Essenti…
I use both everyday and I have found they complement each other well. I still can’t believe such great software is free.
