I need a super digital camera. One that can take pictures of models out doors and on a back drop. It would be great if there was a camera that could take excelent night photos such as a model down town. You can see her perfectly and all the lights behind her not either or. I need the images to be crystal clear for photoshot retouching. I plan to invest so I want the best.

You dont need a D3 to take model shots. Any camera with a hotshoe will do, I have seen some amazing model shots done with a Canon G10. The thing you want is to invest in off camera lighting. Just having a situation where you can expose for a model and city lights is going to be difficult and my guess would be that most of those shots are done by exposing for the lights and then using off camera lighting to light the model. You really dont need a pro body, the G10 if your looking to save some money or any entry level DSLR like the Canon XTi or XSi. A good lens is going to be important though, the cheapest being the 50mm f/1.8 which is only $90. If you have some money you might want to get a 24-70 f/2.8. If you really have some money to throw down get a used Canon 5D and a 24-70 f/2.8. keh.com has some good prices on used Canon 5D.

cameras are stupid recording devices – they are only as good as the operator
a good photographer using lights can produce great images from any manually operatable camera
so any DSLR will do it, you just need to learn how to drive them

You are talking Pro-Level bodies here.
The D3 is a good body. When it comes to the lenses, you will need a few. A good all around lens is the 24-70mm f/2.8 lens. That would be fine for your pictures. You will need other lenses for other things such as telephoto, and wider-angle shots.
EDIT: Andre, i know that. I am just being a tad sarcastic
