What Is Some Good Free Software For Making And Burning Home Dvds?

i need to make some sildeshows with my pics and music in the background, you know like a little movie. If there is any good free software out there could you tell me how to get it and could i get it off of limewire or frostwire? thanks
i already have the nero demo and it takes about 4 hours to burn a 15 minute slideshow, the demo sucks!
please help me!
