To play straight to tv you usually connect a red yellow white lead to tv and other end goes in camcorder.There should be a play symbol somewhere on camcorder .Make sure the switch or dial is selected pointing to this.Press play and make sure your tv is on an av channel .As far as software just use windows movie maker.

check 2 c if ur pc has windows movie maker, alot of pcs com with tha already installed on it nowadays, its a reli gd programme i always use it 4 the movies i make, easy 2 use n does a gd job! jus hook up ur cam, get the footage, edit it then click on the save to computer button then ur movie can b played on windows media then frm there u can put it on a cd
